Update: December 18, 2001
We have delayed the release of the 1.3 patch (US versions only) for Pool of Radiance in order to fix a few last minute bugs that have cropped up in testing. We are presently tracking to release the patch tomorrow, December 19th. Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Update: October 18, 2001
Patch 1.2 is now available for download. Here's what is addressed with this latest patch:
- Fixes various save game corruptions;
- Fixes an IP address problem in multiplayer play;
- Fixes a minor bug in game play at the end of the game.
Patch v1.2 does not contain the fixes contained in Patch v1.1. You do not need to have Patch v1.1 installed before installing Patch v1.2.
For those experiencing the "data corruption" error message when installing the patch, there is an issue with how the files are extracted from the ZIP archive. The extracted files include a folder called "Data" and a file in the folder named "data.cat". When extracting the 1.2 patch from the Pool of Radiance 1.2 Patch file, make sure you include the "Keep Directories the Same" or "Create Subdirectories" option selected in order to preserve the directory structure after unzipping the file. Alternatively, you can create a folder named "Data" and then move the "data.cat" file into the "Data" folder. Double click "POR_Installer" and the patch should install correctly.
More detailed release notes are included within the patch file itself.

Update: October 10, 2001
Here's the latest info on the patches:
- v1.1 - Installer patch is now available for download. This patch provides an entirely new uninstaller and has a work-around for people who want to install Pool of Radiance onto another drive other than C Drive.
- v1.2 - Patch is programmed and is now in QA. It fixes the save game corruptions, IP address problems in multiplay, and bug with an NPC near the end of the game. It should be posted by the end of next week.
- v1.3 - Patch is already in progress and will fix a large range of issues. It will take a few weeks to program and test.
Also, we tried moving the Forum server to a new location yesterday, but that location could not handle the traffic. We are now looking at other alternatives.

We were not able to get the patch fully tested in time for release tonight. We are going to wait one more day to be sure we have confidence in our patch. Thank you for your patience.

Update: October 5, 2001
Here is today's update:
- The patch for the Uninstall bug is just about done in QA and looks good. Unless we find something wrong with it, we think it will be posted by the end of day Sunday (Pacific Standard Time).
- We think we've found a fix for the Install bug, and QA is testing it. This will go out as part of the patch that we're hoping to have posted by Sunday night (see #1).
- The second patch, which covers the save game bugs ( the corrupted/lost save and the Invisibility save) should be done and tested by the end of next week. This patch will NOT invalidate current save games.
- Once these two patches are out, we will take the info we've gathered from the Forums and Tech Support and start work on addressing the remaining big issues.
Thanks,
